How do I assess my foundation class?
Foundation/reception classes are graded differently in AdKlass compared to classes being assessed with Key Stages.
Browse through the strands to the statement you wish to assess in the normal manner.
Initially, only the next statement(s) to be achieved by each pupil are shown.
If a pupil has already achieved all statements then none are shown by that pupil’s name:
To see all statements click the Show All link to the right of the pupil’s name:
The period at which the pupil achieved the statement is shown to the right of each ticked statement, e.g. N1=Nursery Term 1, R1=Reception Term 1, etc.
Select the period at which the statement to be noted was achieved from the Foundation Stage list:
Then, for the appropriate pupil, tick the check box next to the achieved statement:
If one exists, the next statement to be achieved by the pupil will then be displayed:
Visible/un-ticked statements must be achieved by the pupil in each subject area before more statements will appear.
For each strand pupils can score up to 9 points by achieving the statements related to that strand. Each point may require the pupil to achieve one or more statements. When it is necessary to achieve more than one statement to score the point, all related statements are shown with the same number in the same coloured square:
When the pupil achieves all of the statements they will receive a point and be able to continue to the next assessment:
Once a pupil has achieved 3 points, statements for points 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 can be achieved in any order. These will be displayed at once to show which statements the pupil is currently working towards. You may assess a pupil on visible statements in any order:
To revoke previously achieved statements or to select whether achieved statements are included on the pupil’s report, click the Show All link to the right of the appropriate pupil’s name:
To include an achieved statement in the pupil’s report, click the grey Report button to the left of the appropriate statement so that it is ticked and shown in green. To remove the achieved statement from the pupil’s report, click the appropriate green Report button.
