How do I assess my foundation level pupils at home?
The AdKlass Assessment Program allows you to take home and complete assessment for foundation stage pupils.
You can download strands into the AdKlass Assessment Program in the usual way by clicking on the Work Offline button at the bottom of your foundation assessment pages
Start the AdKlass Assessment Program from the AdKlass Offline Working shortcut on your desktop and select the strand you wish to work on from the open strands dialog.
The main program will load showing only the statement(s) to be achieved by each of the pupils.
Previous and future statements are hidden, these can be shown by double clicking on the pupil’s name.
The X in the column next to the pupil’s name shows the statement has been achieved by the pupil. The N1 in the next column displays the term in this case N1 for Nursery Term 1, in which the statement was achieved. Clicking in the Report column so Report becomes highlighted in green tells the AdKlass system to include the statement in the pupil’s report. Finally the right hand column displays the statement with the point’s level of that statement displayed in square brackets [1].
To assess a pupil, select the period in which the pupil achieved the statement from the Term: drop down list.
For the appropriate pupil, click in the cell next to their name so an X appears to show they have achieved the statement. If one exists the next statement to be achieved by that pupil will then be displayed.
Visible/un-ticked statements must be achieved by the pupil in each subject area before more statements will appear.
For each strand pupils can score up to 9 points by achieving the statements related to that strand. Each point may require the pupil to achieve one or more statements. When it is necessary to achieve more than one statement to score the point, all related statements are shown with the same number in square brackets:
When the pupil achieves all of the statements they will receive a point and be able to continue to the next assessment:
Once a pupil has achieved 3 points, statements for points 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 can be achieved in any order. These will be displayed at once to show which statements the pupil is currently working towards. You may assess pupil on visible statements in any order.
To revoke a previously achieved statement click the X in line with the statement you no longer wish the pupil to have achieved. If you wish to see all the statements of the strand you are assessing you can double click the pupil’s name as mentioned previously. Clicking on a cell in the Report column to show a green highlighted Report will include the statement in the pupil’s report.
As you assess your pupils’ the AdKlass Offline Client will save your work automatically, there is not need to click a save button. Once you have finished working just click on the X in to the top right hand corner of the program to close it.
