How do I assess a pupil with special needs? (P scales)
You are able to record a pupil’s achievement against the P scales model within in the AdKlass system.
To tell AdKlass you wish to assess a pupil using P scales click on the Pupils button at the top of the AdKlass page:
Click on the Details link for the pupil you wish to assess:
Click on the Special needs check box (so that it is ticked) and click on the Save Details button.
Your pupil is now flagged as requiring special needs and assessment using P Scales. To begin assessment browse through the strands to a statement you wish to assess in to the normal way. See How do I grade a pupil? for more information.
Once you see the statement you wish to assess pupils on you will be able to see a purple P Scales button for your special needs pupil(s). Click on the P Scales button to begin assessment on the pupil.
A page displaying the P scales statements for the subject will be displayed. Click on the check box next to any of the statements achieved by the pupil.
If you wish a statement achieved by the pupil to appear in their report click on the Report button, when highlighted in green the statement will appear in the pupil’s report.
Changes made of the P scales pages will be saved automatically, there is no need to click on a save button. To return to the assessment page you have just come from click the back button on your browser’s toolbar.
